Tuesday, August 11, 2026
TRADER'S BRIEF
Crude oil (USO, +6.73%) posted its biggest one-day close-to-close move on this board all year, driven by escalating Iran/Strait of Hormuz tensions, but its own trend reading stayed YELLOW, still below its 14-day average even after the spike.
The Supercycle Score slipped to 21/100 ("Strong Headwind") from 24, as the dollar (UUP, +0.25%) pushed further into its 52-week range even though its own trend reading turned mixed rather than confirming.
Natural gas (UNG, +4.11%) confirmed GREEN for the first time in weeks, the board's only clean trend read today.
Copper (CPER, +0.70%) and corn (CORN, flat) both held RED, extending Friday's rollover even as copper's own price ticked higher.
Nine of the twelve names on the board closed YELLOW, the most indecisive single session since this letter started tracking the board.
